JobMate Privacy Policy

JobMate helps job seekers tailor resumes, manage job applications, track application responses, and autonomously apply to roles. This policy explains what information JobMate collects, why it is collected, and how it is used, with special emphasis on Google user data.

What Google User Data is Collected

The data we collect about you is what you have authorized us to access, including your name, email address, and Google account identifier (via Google Sign-In). If you opt-in to our email synchronization feature, we also collect read-only access to your Gmail messages. We may also collect the job-related data you explicitly provide to us, such as your resume text, uploaded files, and job URLs.

How Your Application Uses Google User Data

We will use your data to provide you with the services you requested. Specifically:

JobMate limits its use of Google user data strictly to providing or improving user-facing features. We DO NOT use Google user data for targeted advertising, determining credit-worthiness, lending purposes, creating databases, or training AI models. JobMate does not send emails from your Gmail account and does not modify or delete your messages.

With Whom We Share, Transfer, or Disclose Google User Data

We do not transfer or disclose your information to third parties for purposes other than the ones provided. We may share data with our secure cloud infrastructure partners solely to help us provide and host our services.

We strictly prohibit the sale of Google user data to third-parties. We DO NOT transfer Google user data to third parties for targeted advertising, selling to data brokers, providing to information resellers, determining credit-worthiness, lending purposes, user advertisements, personalized advertisements, retargeted advertisements, interest-based advertisements, or training AI models.

Data Protection Mechanisms for Sensitive Data

Security procedures are in place to protect the confidentiality of your data. We use industry-standard encryption (such as HTTPS and symmetric AES encryption) to protect your sensitive information, including API keys and OAuth access tokens, both in transit and at rest within our secure AWS DynamoDB databases.

Data Retention and Deletion

We will retain your personal information for the length of time needed to fulfill the purposes outlined in this privacy policy unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When the data retention period expires for a given type of data, we will delete or destroy it.

You may request for your data to be deleted by contacting [email protected]. Upon request, we will promptly delete your account, access tokens, and stored application history.

Limited Use Disclosure

JobMate's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
